Damian Kelliher – CCO

Damian Kelliher joined Decmil in 2018 and is currently our Chief Commercial Officer.

I enjoy working in the construction industry, and it allows me to contribute to building for the future, creating opportunities, and changing lives.

I commenced my career straight after school, working as an apprentice electrician. However, I chose to follow a different path a few years later when I joined a local residential developer on a Building Technician program. This was a great program that exposed me to all disciplines of the construction industry, from estimating to infield surveying. I completed this program whilst attending university where I complete a Higher national Diploma.
Mid-way through this program it became apparent to me and my employer at the time that the route of Quantity Surveyor was the way forward for me.
Since that early part of my career, I have had numerous roles along the way, including Commercial Director, Chief Operating Officer, Executive General Manager – International and Chief Commercial Officer.
I began working at Decmil in October 2018 where I took up roles as Executive General Manager Commercial and Risk. I then moved into the Chief Commercial Officer role which I currently occupy. I’ve been responsible for various functions at Decmil including HSEQ, Marketing, IS&T, Commercial and Risk, Project Controls, Precontracts, and more recently operations.
I enjoy working in the construction industry, and it allows me to contribute to building for the future, creating opportunities, and changing lives.
I really enjoy working at Decmil, I enjoy the people and appreciate the opportunities that Decmil provides. I look forward to what we can all be at Decmil as we work towards realising Decmil’s vision.
For those starting out in their career in the construction industry, my advice is to keep an open mind and to think broadly. Too many people think that a prescriptive path is the only way to develop your career, but I am living proof that this is not the case.
The construction industry is demanding, and therefore it is important to appreciate the support given by those around you, whether it be family or friends. From a personal perspective, I could not do what I do without the support of my wife Jen and my four children.
I spend my weekends and any spare time on my farm with my family, dogs and livestock. My other significant interest is the UFC, with my Sunday mornings allocated to the UFC and major events with friends and family.

Together, we’re the difference.

Together, we’re Decmil.
