Decmil was contracted by Shell Aviation on behalf of the Joint User Hydrant Installation (JUHI) to undertake the upgrade works at the Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal to facilitate additional aircraft parking positions including additional fuel hydrants.

The JUHI (Joint User Hydrant Installation) fuel hydrant works was managed by Shell Aviation (SAV). In order to provide for aircraft refuelling on the modified bays, modification of the existing JUHI hydrant system was also required including:

  • Installation of sheet piling and dewatering equipment
  • Excavation of the below grade necessary for the work as required for tie-ins including removal of existing concrete backfill from around existing fuel lines
  • Fabrication, installation, tie-ins to the existing hydrant line and commissioning of 7 new hydrant points and 1 new low point
  • Construction of new valve pit D2
