The village was master planned for 400 rooms and associated infrastructure and designed for staged commissioning. The village is located in a remote part of the Pilbara, approximately 240km south-east of Port Hedland.

The scope of works for the village included:

  • 200 rooms
  • Kitchen
  • Dining room
  • Tavern
  • Gymnasium
  • Indoor cinema
  • Administration
  • Retail space
  • Sports court
  • Outdoor BBQs
  • Workshop

A key consideration during the design development was the isolation of the site, with the village designed to withstand the elements, ensuring that occupants could survive cyclones and isolation for periods of up to and exceeding three weeks.
