Decmil was appointed to design, procure and construct the operations village at Mt Webber for Atlas Iron for a 200 person operations village.

This was a permanent accommodation village comprising 200 rooms, kitchen and dining room facilities, tavern, gymnasium, indoor cinema, administration offices, retail space, sports court, outdoor BBQ’s, a workshop and a power station.

The village was master planned for 400 rooms and associated infrastructure and designed for staged commissioning. The village is located in a remote part of the Pilbara, approximately 240 kms south east of Port Hedland Airport.

A key consideration during the design development was the isolation of the site, with the village designed to withstand the elements, ensuring that occupants could survive cyclones and isolation for periods of up to and exceeding three weeks.
