BHP Billiton Iron Ore awarded Decmil the Port Haven accommodation village contract and issued the challenge of delivering a new benchmark in remote accommodation.
The scope of works included:
- Design and construction of the central facilities, including state-of-the-art dry mess and kitchen, wet mess, gatehouse and gymnasium
- Installation and commissioning of all site services, including potable water, fire water, wastewater, electrical and telecommunications
- Installation of 1202 rooms (a combination of single/double storey)
- Civil and infrastructure site works
