Glencore’s Rolleston Open Cut Mine is planning for the expansion into the Rolleston West region with multiple pit shells approved to mine in the current Life of Mine Plan. Construction of the Rolleston West infrastructure (Stage 1) is to enable access to the Rolleston West 4 pit.
Decmil has been awarded a contract for the construction of infrastructure for Rolleston West Pit Extension. The project is located at Rolleston, in the southern part of Queensland’s Bowen Basin, 16 kilometres west of the town of Rolleston and 120 kilometres southeast of Emerald.

Decmil’s scope of works for the project includes earthworks; excavation works; rock crushing; construction of access tracks, intersections and temporary construction infrastructure and revegetation works.
The works for this project includes construction of:
- An elevated creek crossing
- A haul road, which includes managing the operation of a crushing unit on site for gravel material.
- A flood levee which is required for the commencement of mining in Rolleston West 4.
