The GLNG Project is one of Australia’s major CSG to LNG projects involving the development of an LNG Facility in Gladstone and a 420km high pressure gas transmission pipeline to transport gas from the CSG fields to the LNG Facility.

Further development of the CSG reserves has included the construction of compressor stations at Arcadia, Fairview and Roma gas fields.

Decmil was contracted to complete prefabrication of all interconnecting pipework for the hub as well as pipework for outlying wellsites. These serviced the raw gas, sales gas, glycol drains and water systems. Welding processes used were GMAW, FCAW, and SAW.

Materials welded included carbon steel (including low temp) from ½” to 30” and wall thickness up to 59.54mm.

Decmil worked collaboratively with the client to alleviate the challenge of quarantined free issue material. An agreeable plan was set forth in salvaging client accepted material for rework as part of the solution to mitigate programme slippage.
