Decmil was appointed as managing contractor for the Manus Refugee Transit Centre – Lorengau.
The contract included the design, construction, installation and commissioning of a 298-bed facility to service the Australian and Papua New Guinea Government’s regional resettlement arrangements.
The facility includes self-contained accommodation facilities, laundries, training rooms, and recreational facilities, as well as all site development works and service infrastructure.
As part of the early works, Decmil completed all clearance of unexploded ordinance (UXO) on site, including remnants of World War II.
