Decmil was awarded a contract by Covalent Lithium to upgrade 113km of roads to support their operations at the Mount Holland Lithium Project. This project involves the construction of a logistics road to provide a fully functional and continuous bituminised road surface between Great Eastern Highway (GEH) and the Mount Holland Lithium Project mine site.
Decmil commenced early works on the project in August 2023 including permanent road construction activities, foundation preparation and placement of fill within the existing road alignment.
The road upgrade is in accordance with Main Roads Specifications. The scope of works includes:
- Establishment of temporary works at the site including administration, ablutions, crib buildings, and associated infrastructure
- Earthworks and rock excavation
- Construction of surface drains and levees
- Installation of culverts
- Installation of pavements
- Rehabilitation and revegetation
