Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers Pty Ltd are developing Project CERES, which will be the world’s largest gas stream ammonia-urea plant with a production capacity of 2.14 MMTPA. The project is located on the Burrup Peninsula approximately 10km from Dampier and 20km north-west of Karratha in Pilbara Western Australia.
Decmil’s key project deliverables for this project included:
- Total cut material: 901,415 m³
- Drill and blast operations: 414,800 m³ extracted using four drilling rigs across 109 blasts, achieving zero safety incidents
- Backfill material: 723,404 m³
- Crushed and screened material: 2,200,000 tonnes processed through two crushing plants
- Reinforced box culverts installed across existing water and gas utility lines
- Causeway construction completed, incorporating corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culverts.
Decmil’s scope of works also included stockpile management, load and haul of materials, road embankments and pavements, stormwater and sediment management, construction of in-situ concrete slab over existing services and permanent and temporary fencing.
Decmil delivered the project safely and efficiently, achieving zero Lost Time Injuries across 450,801 manhours worked.
