The Capricorn Highway in Queensland is a key freight route and supports a wide range of industries including agriculture, resources and mining. It plays an important role in connecting Rockhampton with central and western communities in Queensland.

Decmil was awarded this Construct Only Contract by Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) Queensland to upgrade a 2.6 kilometre stretch of road on the Capricorn Highway between Emerald and Winton Creek.

The scope of works encompasses road widening to achieve an 1m wide sealed surface to facilitate the Wide Centre Line Treatment. Works include earthworks, culvert extensions, pavement widening, pavement overlay, insitu stabilisation, bitumen surfacing, linemarking and signage.
