I enjoy the culture at Decmil. Your daily work at Decmil can make a significant difference and you are not just a number.

Cameron studied Civil and Construction Engineering at Curtin University in Western Australia. He commenced his career in the construction industry in 2015, when he joined a summer vacation program with Leighton Contractors where he worked on the Mitchel Freeway Extension Project Burns Beach to Hester Ave for Main Roads Western Australia. After completing the vacation program he went on to complete his graduate program where he worked on the Mitchell Freeway and NorthLink 3 projects.Cameron’s career includes spending time in the North of Australia working on various rail projects for FMG and Rio Tinto.

Cameron joined Decmil in 2020 to work on the Albany Ring Road Stage 1 project. Stage 1 was successfully completed, and he is now working on Stage 2. To date, the project has achieved zero LTI’s, which Cameron and his team are very proud of. Cameron says that the opening of the first stage of the Albany Ring Road was a great achievement for him and his team. It is the first overpass bridge in Albany and the first in the Great Southern Region.

Cameron appreciates the culture at Decmil and feels valued as an individual. He believes that your daily work at Decmil can make a significant difference and you are not just a number. Cameron comments that working in the construction industry is like joining a big family – you spend more time at work than at home, and projects are big team efforts.Cameron says that he his goal is to get to work across a good mix of construction projects, including airports, roads, bridges and wind farms. Being able to do rural based, city based and even international projects appeals to him.

Cameron enjoys playing sports, which lends to his enjoyment of projects that involve working outdoors as well as inside in the office. In his spare time Cameron plays for the local Albany Sharks footy team, which won their first premiership last year. Cameron has a wife and two year old daughter, with a second child on its way – due early this year!

Together, we’re the difference.

Together, we’re Decmil.
