Based in Brisbane, Chinmay is a Senior QA Engineer supporting a wide range of projects.
In his current role, Chinmay supports multiple projects with quality managements systems implementation and compliance with quality standards.

Chinmay earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in India and then spent a few years working in the manufacturing industry. Seeking to further his education, he pursued and completed a Master of Engineering at Deakin University in Geelong. Following his graduation, Chinmay began his career in Australia as a Graduate Engineer on a Solar Farm Construction Project—his first experience in the construction sector. He credits this role for providing invaluable hands-on experience and deepening his passion for project-based work, where he finds fulfillment in facing new challenges and finding solutions daily.
Chinmay joined Decmil in 2019 as a Site Engineer, beginning his journey with the Sunraysia Solar Farm project and later contributing to other key projects, including Tongariro RDP (NZ) and QGC Curtis Island.
In 2021, Chinmay transitioned into his current role as a QA Engineer based in the Brisbane office. In this role, he supports a wide range of projects by conducting audits and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. Chinmay has worked on various Decmil projects including the Bruce Highway – Gin Gin upgrade, design and construction of the Accomodation Camp and Office Facility for the Northern Development Area (NDA) project, and the Ryan Corner Wind Farm. Chinmay played a key role in helping the project teams meet rigorous quality and process requirements.
Chinmay shares that he genuinely enjoys working at Decmil, emphasising the supportive and collaborative nature of the team. He highlights the respect, open communication, and compassion that define the workplace culture where his colleagues are always willing to help one another, and he consistently feels supported in advancing his career and developing new skills. Working in such a supportive and encouraging environment, he says, makes achieving challenging goals deeply rewarding.
Chinmay describes working in the construction industry as an incredibly rewarding experience, where you can witness the tangible impact of your work enhancing people’s daily lives. His advice for those considering a career in construction is simple: if you have a willingness to learn, the industry offers endless challenges to tackle and countless opportunities for growth and development.
When he’s not working, Chinmay is an enthusiastic badminton player who also cherishes quality time with his wife. Together, they love exploring global cuisines, travelling to new destinations, cooking, and unwinding with movies.
