Jake Kontogeorgis – Project Engineer

Jake is currently a Project Engineer, working on the Ison Road Overpass project in Melbourne, Victoria.

I love the challenging and fast paced nature of the work that I do. Every day is different!

Jake joined Decmil in March 2021, commencing on the Gippsland Line Upgrade project prior to joining the team at Ison Road. Works at Ison Road have just commenced, and Jake is really excited about being part of the project team.

Jake studied his Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at Monash University. Since commencing his career in engineering, Jake has worked on various projects that have helped him develop his skills in the construction of stations, civils, structures and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) scopes of work. Projects include the South Gippsland Highway Realignment, Melbourne Metro Tunnel, Clyde Road Level Crossing Removal, Avon River Bridge Upgrade – and Decmil’s Gippsland Line Upgrade project.

Jake says that he enjoys working at Decmil and is appreciative of being able to work in a tight knit team alongside high calibre professionals and people with extensive experience in the delivery of construction projects. Jake comments that one of his highlights was being part of the team that upgraded the Longwarry Station on the Gippsland Line. This project involved the extension of the existing station platform, as well as the construction of an additional second platform. The station precinct was upgraded to include a new car park, new bike hoops and a bus stop. Project works also included construction of drainage channels along paths, and rain gardens to catch run-off to help prevent flooding in the area.

When he is not working, Jake spends his time surfing, fishing, enjoying a beer with his mates and watching AFL.

Together, we’re the difference.

Together, we’re Decmil.
