Tshering Dorji – Site Engineer

Tshering is a Site Engineer currently working on the Bulk Earthworks project for the Perdaman Urea Project located in the Pilbara region of WA.

Joining Decmil has provided me with opportunities to work with and learn from a team comprising different skills sets and knowledge.

Tshering completed his Bachelor of Civil Engineering and moved to Australia in 2020. He then completed his Master’s degree in Project Management at ECU. After completing his post graduate studies he went on to complete an internship in the construction industry and joined Decmil’s Graduate Engineering program.

Tshering’s first project with Decmil was working on the Great Eastern Highway Coates Gully Upgrade, which involved the replacement of 3 bridges with culverts and associated roadworks. His next project was Non-Process Infrastructure works for the Talison MSA Project which involved construction of the Technical Services Building. This project involved construction of a 2,000m2 office administration building and associated office facilities. Tshering then went to join the team constructing Non-Process Infrastructure works for Covalent Lithium at their Kwinana Refinery. Tshering is currently working on delivering Bulk Earthworks for the Perdaman Urea Project in the Burrup Peninsula near Karratha in Western Australia.

Tshering comments that he enjoys the positive work culture at Decmil, and enjoys the diversity, collaboration and integrity of the team at Decmil. He has worked across various projects and says that this brings career progression which he appreciates. He says that joining Decmil has provided him with opportunities to work with and learn from a team comprising different skills sets and knowledge.

Tshering says that what he likes about working in the construction industry is that it allows you to create something and bring a positive impact to the community and the landscape.

When he isn’t working, Tshering enjoys playing archery. He also spends quality time with his family and friends during his R&R breaks.
