This is an exciting time for Decmil, one of change and growth. This growth is possible through expanding our culture of diversity and inclusiveness. To meet the challenges of the future we are committed to ensuring that our workplace reflects the clients we serve and the communities we work in.
A diverse and inclusive culture ensures our people feel valued, respected and have access to equal opportunities. This supports full participation and productivity at work whilst unlocking new perspectives and ways of solving problems to generate creativity and innovation, producing more sustainable and effective outcomes for everyone.
We are committed to increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation across our business and acknowledge the value that this adds to our business. We develop partnerships and initiatives with local communities to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation.
In 2020, we achieved a significant milestone with the successful implementation of our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Building upon the success of achieving our RAP objectives, we embark on the next phase of our reconciliation journey with our Innovate RAP.
Our Innovate RAP commitments include developing greater cultural awareness and cultural inclusivity, increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees within our business, increasing engagement and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in our supply chain and engaging with local communities to make a real difference in the areas in which we operate.
Over the next two years, we will implement our RAP commitments as we strive to influence positive changes within our industry to enhance future opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Through this Innovate RAP, Decmil is proud to play a role in our shared journey as we walk the pathway towards reconciliation together.
