Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) commenced the International Apron and Taxiway Expansion Project in 2010 which included the expansion of the apron at the International Terminal, the link Taxiway Charlie (C8) and the extension of Taxiway Bravo.
As part of the International Apron and Taxiway Expansion project, Decmil was contracted to construct and commission a new section of the Joint User Hydrant Installation (JUHI) fuel pipeline (approximately 300m in length).
Scope of works involved:
- Repositioning a section of the JUHI fuel pipeline so the length of the pipeline under the proposed Taxiway C8 was minimised
- Fabrication and installation of a new pipeline to pass over the two new 1200mm stormwater lines and under the new Taxiway C8
- Tie-in at two locations to the existing fuel hydrant line
- Decommissioning of the redundant section of the existing JUHI fuel pipeline
