Decmil was awarded a contract by to conduct minor works which includes the supply fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning of the ancillary infrastructure for FMG’s Christmas Creek Hydrogen Refuelling Station.

The works were located 13km to the southeast of FMG’s Christmas Creek mine site’s Karntama Village and located in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Decmil’s scope included minor works to facilitate the installation of the hydrogen generation and refuelling infrastructure. Works include detailed earthworks and civil works. The scope of works included underground services and construction of the concrete pad and pedestals, construction of a dome shelter, and tie in of water and electrical services into the Hydrogen Refuelling Station’s equipment’s battery limits.

Construction phasing was critical for success of this project, with construction phasing requirements planned to allow for the installation and interconnection of the HRS equipment to be supplied and installed by other contractors.

The project also required construction of the dome shelter to be performed safely and with no damage to the Hydrogen Refuelling Station infrastructure underneath.
