After successful completion of the ECI phase of this project, Decmil was awarded a contract for the design and construction of the Eva Copper Mine’s Operations Permanent Village.

The Eva Copper Mine is located in north-west Queensland, Australia, approximately 75 km north of Cloncurry and 95 km northeast of Mount Isa. It sits on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People. The mine is a greenfield iron-oxide copper-gold resource and is expected to be the largest new metal mine in Queensland.

This project includes the supply, delivery, and installation of a 454-room Permanent Operations Village. Civil works for this project include:

  • Bulk Earthworks (25,000m3 cut to fill)
  • 3000lnm drainage – overland flow swale drains and pit & pipe drainage networks
  • Pavements and Concrete pathing.

The scope of works for the Permanent Village includes:

  • 550-person capacity kitchen and dining facilities
  • Commercial laundry and workshop buildings
  • Gym, recreational buildings, sport courts and swimming pool.

As part of the ECI phase, Decmil developed the Design Management Plan and the concept layout design plan of the accommodation village. This included procurement of long lead items such as the modular buildings, the water treatment plant (WTP) and waste water treatment plant (WWTP). As part of this process the project team developed a construction methodology to optimise construction and sequencing for the construction phase and sought out opportunities to provide early operation and gradual access for accommodation units.

Delivering solutions.

We are committed to outstanding project management and delivery regardless of the scale or the intricacy of the work.
