The temporary accommodation camps were situated along the new FMG rail line between Port Hedland and the Cloud Break iron ore mine, 260km south west of Port Hedland.

The camps provided temporary accommodation for the workforce constructing the rail line and sidings.

Decmil was contracted to install three rail camps (line camp 3, line camp 4 and line camp 6). Each camp consists of 24 four-person accommodation units, wet and dry mess, administration office, communication rooms, laundry, administration office and first aid facilities.

The works were completed on a very tight construction schedule, due to the client requiring beds immediately to allow the completion of the rail line from Cloud Break Mine to Port Hedland port to continue. The works were completed without injury and to the client’s satisfaction.
