Decmil was awarded appointed to construct a new camp at BHP Billiton’s Rapid Growth Project 5 in the Pilbara region.
As part of the contract, Decmil was responsible for the building and installation of a range of facilities including accommodation units, central facilities and communications rooms.
The scope of works included:
- Construction of earthworks, power, sewerage, water supply, reticulation and communication services
- Transportation, installation and connection of services to 352 standard construction rooms, five laundries, two bulk linen stores, gazebos, verandas and footpaths
- Transportation, installation and connection of services to additions to central facilities, including a dry mess dining area, wet mess cool room, beer garden, freezers, cool room, dry goods store, gymnasium, crib preparation room, ice room, toilet, communication rooms and maintenance shed
- Transportation, installation and connection of services to EPCM facilities
