Decmil was awarded the Design and Construct contract for the Plenty Road Duplication between McKimmies Road and Bush Boulevard, Mill Park.
During Stage 1 of the upgrade, the scope of works included an additional new lane in each direction between McKimmies Road and Bush Boulevard, upgrade of five intersections, including Childs Road and Centenary Drive. Traffic lights were installed at Rivergum and Mayfields Drives, the existing footpath was widened and a new shared walking and cycle path was constructed. Built on-road cyclist lanes were installed and 10,000 metres of safety barriers were installed.
These new lanes improved traffic flow for the 52,000 drivers travelling on this section of road everyday.
Widening this key arterial routs from 4 to 6 lanes have helped commuters get home sooner and safer.
Upgrades to the intersections and new traffic and pedestrian signals at Rivergum and Mayfield Drives made the road safer for all road users.
