Decmil was awarded the design and construct contract to fast track the 514 man camp, which included another 200 room extension with detailed earthworks and illuminated car park.
The scope of works for the 714 bed village included:
- Detailed earthworks
- Concrete foundation works
- Construction of footpaths
- Laundries
- Recreation room
- Gym
- Wet mess
- Locker rooms
- Male and female shower blocks
- Toilet blocks
- Bulk linen stores
- Ice rooms
- Administration office
- Communication room
- First aid room
Decmil worked collaboratively with all Fortescue Metals Group stakeholders to expedite design and complete all works including procurement and construction within six months.
