Decmil was awarded a design and construct contract to provide diesel fuel infrastructure for Roy Hill’s port and mine facilities. The project consisted of diesel pumping systems, storage tanks and transfer facilities.
The design was complex with numerous challenges including compliance with Australian Standards related to fuel storage, and various operational and functional challenges in the loading and unloading of rail mounted fuel cars.
The project also consisted of two horizontal storage tank facilities, one located at the Go-Line for provisioning of the mine’s HMEs, and the other at the Mine Services Area. Both of these facilities have been completed and handed over to Roy Hill Operations.
