As part of the MRPV Construction Panel, Decmil was successfully selected to enter into the ITC Development Agreement for this project and was subsequently awarded the Design & Construction for the Structures Rehabilitation Package North and Southeast.

This project involved the survey, investigation, design and construction of roadworks and bridgeworks associated with 11 existing structures across Melbourne’s northern and south-eastern suburbs.

This project is part of Major Road Projects Victoria’s Suburban Roads Upgrade which aims to improve transport network longevity and reliability, improve road traffic.

Project works included:

  • Upgrading 4 structures to 75% of SM1600 loading
  • Replacing 5 structures with culverts
  • Installing cathodic protection systems on two structures
  • Upgrading bridge barriers as required.
Stakeholder Management

Communication and stakeholder management was critical for this project, with quality of communication, impact management, timeliness and resolution of enquiries/complaints requiring careful management.

Decmil achieved an outstanding score of 88% by MRPV for the customer satisfaction survey, exceeding the 70% benchmark target.
